God is Working in South Africa

I am finally feeling normal after my travels to South Africa, and I want to thank you for praying for me and for the people of South Africa to whom the Lord sent me. Before I left, I was aware that the Lord had His eye on every person that He would touch by the Live to Love with Jesus message. As I prayed, I could see the ripple effect of our ministry as I met with people and taught His Word. The ripple effect is still in process throughout the world, so I want to encourage you that you are part of that rippling process of the love of God as you make praying the Live to Love prayer a daily habit.

Jesus, the Revelation of God’s Love

It’s the Christmas season, so of course, our focus turns to the coming of Jesus to earth. We celebrate that glorious day when Jesus, the Son of God, the Christ, the Lord, the Savior of the world entered into our dark, fallen, condemned, useless existence. What value did He see in us? God’s description of mankind isn’t a pretty picture.

Without Love, All is a Waste

Wouldn’t it be devastating for a person to waste his or her entire life?! It would be like someone expending great energy to climb a ladder, only to find when they got to the top that it was up against the wrong wall.

God’s Love Unifies

Naturally, people unify with each other because they share similarities. Because people live for themselves, it is reasonable for them to connect with people who are like them. The more similar one is to another person, the more likely they are to get along with each other. What makes Christians so different is that they have the supernatural ability to love one another despite their differences—and offenses. It is the love of Christ that controls them instead of self.

Will You Have Confidence in the Judgement?

Imagine being beside yourself with joy when you come to stand before Jesus Christ, knowing that you have pleased Him by spending your life getting to know Him better and loving others with Him. That can be your experience! Add to that an even greater joy that comes from knowing that you’ve been instrumental in discipling others, resulting in their ultimate happiness and joy in that day.

Love is the Proof

Everyone who is a true child of God knows God and loves others. This beautiful growth of our relationship with Him happens because when God is saving us, the Father draws us to Jesus through the beauty of His love, the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

A New Commandment

As we began a new Live to Love discipleship group, I asked, “What do you live for?” Surprisingly, everyone in the group of eight remarked that they had never been asked that question. It seems like this is an important question for us to answer. That’s why I thought it helpful to consider seven biblical reasons to rethink what we are living for.

God is Love

I began a series of articles last month for the purpose of inviting my readers to reconsider the purpose for which they live. You have one life to live, and it makes sense that you would want to be a good steward of the life you’ve been given. If you haven’t read last month’s Live to Love blog, you can do so here. In short, it’s obvious as you meet people, they live for many different things. What do you live for?

Don’t Misplace Your Worship

“Where are my keys? Have you seen my cell phone?” I’m sure I’m not the only one to have misplaced important things that I use every day of my life. It’s incredibly easy to do. Even more often, I misplace my worship of Jesus Christ. How about you?
